India is a land of 22 languages despite what British rule did to our country, We managed to push through the challenges and is now one of the emerging the superpower of the world.

Post-British raj the relevance of the English language gained momentum. Even today, students fail to understand the importance of the Hindi language and study it just to pass the exam and perhaps not with the same enthusiasm as the other subjects. Just like the English bind the world together, Hindi in our country is the bridge that connects people.

Hindi still is a matter of many languages for many in several states of the country and English used as a medium to impart knowledge remains a great barrier. It is also been said that to ensure strong foundation skills in numeracy and literacy,
the curriculum should be imparted a language that a child understands.

The policy further states whatever possible the medium of instruction until at least grade 5, But preferably till grade 8 and beyond, will be the mother tongue.

Hindi Diwas/Hindi Day

On the 14th of September, Hindi Diwas is honored to commemorate the acceptance of Hindi in the Devanagari script as one of India’s national languages in several Hindi-speaking states. The Constituent Assembly of India approved Hindi as one of the two official languages of the Republic of India, largely through the efforts of Beohar Rajendra Simha, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Kaka Kalelkar, and Seth Govind Das and Maithili Sharan Gupt As a reason, on Beohar Rajendra Simha’s 50th birthday, September 14, 1949, the efforts concluded in the acceptance of Hindi as an official language.

The Indian Constitution, which went into force on January 26, 1950, confirmed this judgment. Article 343 of the Indian Constitution mandated that Hindi be written in the Devanagari script.
