When I was a child, our learning process was way different than today’s education process. Yesterday my child’s teacher started these sight words and what I actually understand from her is the words, which we identify by looking at them in one sight.
Honestly, I think that helps their reading speed, and also builds a strong foundation for early learning. Their comprehension level grows up and reading booms. It’s a great method of teaching modern
high-frequency words.
It comes after the CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words so that they can identify the Sight words / Tricky words easily when it combines with the CVC words.
“THE CAT”
There are a lot of sight words, but according to me to teach every word to your little ones, we can divide them into groups, like 2 letter words, 3 letters, and more. Students can learn some words by connecting sounds but these words they can just recognize by looking at them. With this approach, they can learn easily and also they can’t join the sound of some words like”uh”. We can make them understand while playing a game. We can find the sight words in a list of other words, find a word in a paragraph, spell the word and etc. As it’s said itself Sight word / Tricky words (see and learn) to understand through visualisation we can paste Sight word / Tricky words prints cutout on the wall, near the place where they can easily read or at their eye level.
